60oz. of electrolytes??

I have a private ultrasound scheduled for Saturday at 16 weeks and they told me to drink 60oz. of Gatorade, coconut water or pedialyte over the next few days. Has anyone else had to do this?

If it a gender scan...i was asked to drink a high sugar drink just before as it should wake the baby so they can get all images they need...this is my 3rd baby and had to do the same for the first 2 at our private scan, we have our gender scan tomorrow and have to do the same 😊

It’s because they need more fluid in front of the babies face to get better imaging results as that is how ultrasounds work. It can take up to 4 days for the fluid to reach the uterus. The only reason I could think they would recommend drinks with lots of electrolytes is to help retain said water in your body

Nope. Odd request, and I probably wouldn't be too keen on putting Gatorade into my body while pregnant.
