Everyday Encouragement
So I started posting this in Health and Lifestyle. But I have gotten very rude feedback and it isn’t my intention to do that. It is their choice to reject God🤷🏼♀️ So I guess I’ll just post here😊
Good morning everyone☺️ Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!
Today I’m going to piggy back off of yesterday’s post about the Great Commission and answer the question,
What are His commandments?
So today’s verse is Matthew 22:37-40
-Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. -
I know many people are probably familiar with the 10 commandments. But the first and greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your being. Sounds simple in text but it is so hard in reality. I struggle with it everyday and fall short of it every day. The second is just as difficult, to love our neighbors as ourselves. How hard is is to love the person who cut you off driving, said mean things to you as a child, loves to tear you down?? How are we supposed to love these people that we want to hate? I will talk about that one tomorrow. But the important thing is that we are to love those people as ourselves. If you don’t love yourself how can you love other people. I think we can all agree that the sky is beautiful, the birds, mountains, flowers etc. We’re any of those things made in the image of God? No. But they are majestically beautiful. If we are made in the image of God how much more than majestically beautiful are we?
The order of his commands are simple
Love God. Love yourself. Love people.
My prayer is that when those tough moments come and I want to turn from God, I will turn to him. His love is made perfect in weakness.
Hope this encourages someone today.
Whoever is reading this, I am
praying that prayer over you.
Love God. Love yourself. Love people.💖
