My natural color is a bland brunette shade (see roots in photo below). I used to have ombré hair when it was trending (medium brunette roots to mid-blond ends), and loved having a little more of a dramatic look. At one point we switched to balayage and over time my hair color grew out awkwardly and my stylist has been doing just highlights to go lighter overall.. I have confidence in my stylists abilities because she has done great color for my in the past, but I feel like my hair is just looking very blah and the color is some kind of weird brown blond mix, but not in a good way.. I want to go back to having my roots closer to my natural shade and trying a melt or balayage with more of that intention of darker roots, lighter ends.. I also work in a creative field and would like to maybe try just a bit of hair color just subtly mixed in (if not in the next color appointment, down the road..)

This first photo is my hair color now... sorry the photos aren’t great.. my hair is not actually as damaged as it looks, this is just after air drying and sleeping on it in a ponytail (I am on maternity leave with a newborn and a toddler and styling it wasn’t a priority that day 🙃).

I feel like the following photos would be good colors on me, but I don’t really know what it would take to get from “A” the photo above, to “B” one of the options below.. any suggestions on what photo would be the best ‘transition’ from where I am at? Also, suggestions welcome!
