Is your hospital making you wear a mask while in labor/pushing?

I’ve seen so many moms with masks on as their babies are born... I can’t imagine delivering with a mask on. From my understanding I thought as long as your Covid results are negative you don’t have to wear one once you’re in the delivery room?

I didn’t have to wear a mask at all during my whole delivery, I was in a lot of pain & didn’t get an epidural until later but I did wear a mask when the nurses & the doctor who gives the epidural came in because it was more people but when it was just my nurse & my Ob or something I wouldn’t have my mask on especially when I pushed.

The answer is yes and no.
My hospital makes you wear a mask until your test comes back negative.
Meaning, if you refuse a test, yes, you will wear a mask, and if you arrive too late, and the test they do upon arrival hasn't come back with a result yet (it is an urgent test, but it still has some processing time), then you have to wear a mask also. So I know, I just have to arrive earlier than maybe I want and ask for a test and to be admitted right away, if I want to get rid of a mask.

Our hospital has patients wear one when walking in the halls, during an epidural, and during pushing. Otherwise the patient does not have to wear a mask
