Once my doctor starts checking for dilation will she every time?

My OB started checking for dilation at my 36 week appointment, I go in tomorrow at 37+3 and am curious if she will check again? I was almost at a 1 last time so just wondering if anything has progressed but wasn’t sure if she had only checked since we had to go the GroupB strep test

I was checked at 37 weeks (1cm) and 38 weeks (2cm) never made it to my 39 week appointment I went into labor the morning of my appointment

You can ask or opt out! I didn’t get checked until 41 weeks before deciding to induce

My midwives did not check at all until I called and told them I thought i was in labor. They said it serves no purpose to check when baby is ready then things will get moving.

Depends on the office. My doctor's office doesn't believe in checking (unless requested by the mother) until past 40 weeks. Dilation doesn't indicate how close to labor you are and they don't want to risk infection by possibly introducing bacteria.

You have a right to opt out. Checking dialation before you're in labor is kinda useless
