UPDATE

Y’all I could cry rn. I posted on here before how I felt like a 💩 mom because my child wasn’t eating solids. Well we started food/feeding therapy and it has helped so much. Within the past week, we’ve seen so much improvement. Today, he ate star spaghetti and meat sauce like a champ and yesterday ate mango that he dropped on the floor. I am just in awe! After going to therapy, I realized some of it was my fault. I was terrified if him choking so my process was “oh he doesn’t want solids? That’s okay just purées.” No biggie. We also found out that til the day he suffers from super bad reflux. So it was just a cocktail for feeding issues. Baby steps for our little guy!

To the comment requesting my process on how I went about this: I took him to his 12 month check-up and he still wasn’t eating solids, but ate like 9 things of purées everyday and anything in purée form. His doctor put him on First Omeprazole for 2 months. This was to treat the reflux and see if he would take solids after his reflux was controlled. We went back at 15 months with no improvement on solids; although the reflux did get better. That’s when his pediatrician gave us the referral to OT/Feeding therapy to desensitize and early intervention in feeding! We’ve had 4 sessions & the improvement has been awesome! I hope that you’re able to get the help for your baby as well! :)
