Anatomy scan?

Hi ladies,
I was wondering if the tech ever tells you if something is gravely wrong? Like would she call in the radiologist I’d the brain is half forms or intestine out of body??
Or do they show you all the ‘cute’ stuff and let you walk out not knowing the truth?
Any shares experiences would be so helpful

They typically take all the scans then send them to the dr. They’ll just say “the dr will go over your results”

My tech did a great job walking us through what she was looking at and explaining everything they’re looking for. She wasn’t aloud to really tell us anything one way or the other, but she was super peppy and congratulated us several times so we were pretty sure all was good. 
She sent everything to the radiologist to check it out and then he sent it to my doctor, we met with my doctor about an hour after my scan and she confirmed that everything on the baby looks great!

It depends - I’ve always seen sonographers who can talk you through what they’re seeing, but some have to send details to a doctor first. So if they’re showing you things and talking about it it’s likely they’d also be able to tell you - or they’d call someone in for a second opinion

My tech did the scan and gave me the envelope with all the info to give to the doctor at the appt (which was right after). My doctor CAN read the scan but we have two “top” doctors who do all the readings and they are high risk doctors. Every scan is read by one of them. My last scan, my doctor looked and said it all looks good except for something funny with the stomach but it’s probably nothing to worry about, it doesn’t look worrisome, and once so and so double checks it, we’ll know for sure.

It probably depends on the tech/practice. Our techs walk us through everything and if there is a reason for concern they let us know what they are thinking but that we will have to speak to the doctor and go from there.

For my test they logged in everything they find. Then you go back to the waiting room. From there you see your doctor. So if anything is wrong you know within 15min. Which they found a fibroid on my placenta and they straught away told me and went over any questions I had

Both times the tech did mine and then the Dr came in and looked really quickly and looked at the pictures of different parts the tech had captured and then he went over the results. Both times were fine even though the first time it freaked me out that the Dr had to come in after and look. I thought something was wrong.

I had one tech doing my US then she left and another one came in, and then she left and the doctor came in to check baby out. That’s how I knew something was wrong. Luckily it’s nothing major for me. But that’s how I knew.

They just take pictures and have the doctor look at them and the doctor will talk to you.
