Glucose test.?

So this is my first pregnancy and ive always seen people talking about the glucose test, and since i just found out i figured it would be the best time to ask...
What is it? Its testing your sugars... i believe?
Why does everyone hate it? When will i have to take it? How many will i have to take?

It’s to check and see if you have gestational diabetes or not. They test between 26-28 weeks and you’ll only have to take it once unless you fail the 1 hour then you’ll have to do the 3 hour. A lot of people dread because of the drink you have to drink but I didn’t mind it.

I had mine done at 16 weeks. I have PCOS and insulin resistance that goes with it.  I failed the first one and had to do the one where you get poked 3 times.  My drink was clear and made me feel horrible.  Now taking insulin to get things under control still haven’t found the magic amount.    Good luck to you.

I did it to rule out PCOS...shockingly enough I like candy/sugar/anything sweet—except this was like orange crush (soda) on sugar steroids. Gave me the worst sugar rush and headache.

Queen just make sure you make you appointment to do the test around your  natural sleep and eating Schedule for your no food time window. If you put around you sleep you don’t notice the not eating as much.
Remember to eat right up to the time cut off. So do snacks after you meals.
Make sure you drink water just plain water no fruit no flavors literally plain water.
No caffeine 
Go bed early get a lot rest
You won’t pass if you get too hot or too dehydrated.
So wear something comfortable and cool to regulate your body temp.
I fail mine the first round because the nurses has misinformed me I know what I did wrong now just passing it along.
If must know I didn’t drink water and I didn’t snack up til the time window I ate but I should ate again even if was a snack. 
I didn’t go bed early or rest/relax like lol I was sick. 
Passed on hard test since I applied all those steps.

It’s a sugar level test and they usually taste nasty .. I recently just had to take mine .. my midwife gave me mine earlier then usually don’t really remember her reason

The one hour wasn’t bad. I had lemon lime flavor and it just tasted like flat sprite no issues but did fail it.
When I took the 3 hour I reacted horribly. The drink was TERRIBLE a super sugary fruit punch red thing. And my body just didn’t react well. Ended up almost passing out and almost throwing up. 
Turns out I have GD anyways 🤷🏼‍♀️ lol
