Just a vent!
My MIL has been dating a man that my husband isn't very fond of. They've been dating for a couple years and they have a tendency to "make their mark" on our big events. While decorating for our wedding my friends came to me to tell me they were making out in our ceremony room and it made everyone very uncomfortable. For my husbands birthday/going away party, she called to tell us to bring the food because she doesn't have the money to feed everyone she invited and she didn't want to ask her boyfriend to help.
Now she plans to come visit us in our new home Ina different state and she is bringing him and my husbands little sister. My husband tried to tell her in the nicest way possible not to bring him by saying we just don't have room, which we don't it's just a small apartment. And she went off saying that Jeff is her partner and will be a part of the family soon (they aren't engaged and don't live in the same state) and she said he is excited to be a grandfather!!!
This man is nothing to me and my husband besides my MILs boyfriend and she seems to think he can claim the status of GRANDFATHER!!! He has not earned that name with us in anyway. We have had 3 miscarriages and it's taken us almost 2 years to get to this point in a pregnancy... Our families and friends have been there for us they have been or shoulders to cry on and they have prayed for us and supported us in so many ways and yet they think that just because he is a part of HER life that makes him a part of ours!!
I don't know how to confront this situation it's not about what my child will see him as it's what he hasn't earned with US!!
