Really want a VBAC

My first labor was awful. I went into labor and labored for over 24 hours. Wanted to go natural but after 20 hours of pain I asked for the good stuff. Lol. I got a fever at some point during my labor and my son was in distress. Not to mention my water had to be broken and the doctors said most likely baby inhaled his poop. Lol. So I reached 9.5 cm of dilation and was stuck there for a long time. Doctors gave me the chance to push. I did for a while. My sons head was crooked so the doctors tried to “help” with that. That was not pleasant. Nothing happened after trying to push for a while. So I ended up having an emergency c section. My son was 9lbs. Which I’ve been told could have been part of the problem of not being about to push him through.

So now I’m pregnant and want a VBAC. My doctor gave me some options but she’s thinks I may have a similar experience because baby could be big again and my body might not react well. My thing is this I don’t want to end up in a similar situation. My labor was awful. I don’t want to go through attempting to have a vaginal birth to end up with an emergency c section. Need advice.
