Is this belittling?

My husband has a habit of saying “it’s common sense”. Today I reminded him he has a meeting at 6pm. I thought that maybe he forgot because he was playing the video game and we were already supposed to have left for his mom’s house. I thought “oh maybe he forgot about the meeting and that’s why he’s delaying going to his mom’s house”. He also is always asking to remind him about appointments and meetings because he has a tendency to forget and sometimes manages his time poorly. (This is not me judging him. This is what he himself has said.) So I brought up the meeting and he said “I don’t understand why things that are common sense don’t register in your brain. Why would I go to the meeting if we’re staying at my mom’s house? I’m not going to drive all around the city. Those two destinations are 40 mins away from each other. Obviously I’m not going.” Isn’t this rude? I have asked him before to stop saying this in conversation with me because it makes me feel as if he thinks he’s smarter than me. He says it quite often if we disagree or if I make a mistake.. Am I just being sensitive?
