How much is your LO talking?

My son is saying “mama, dada, ball, duck” and knows around 20 animal sounds when asked what they say and says EIEIO. He just started trying to say “happy birthday” sounds more like “apee burt.” 
I am so concerned with his talking and worrying that he’s later than his peers and even kids younger. I met his pediatrician yesterday and expressed my concern. He said if he is saying at least 1 word clearly before he’s 2 that other people can understand, then he’s not concerned and we’ll reevaluate when he’s 2. 
So discouraging and sucks to compare him when I see kids his age and younger talking and singing songs.

Very few words here. He actually just started saying "I stuck" when he has trouble getting up or if a toy is stuck. He has been in speech for 3 month. They said nothing is wrong that he just isnt ready.  Guess he might skip single words and go to sentences 🤷‍♀️

My daughter talks a lot. Most of it is bable but she  likes to play copycat so if you say something she says it to. Her favorites at the moment is where it go and uh oh and da dee lol

He can say a few things, but the only things he says frequently are Dada, ew, and uh oh. He'll say "Duke of Earl" if he wants music and a few other things sporadically. He's getting evaluated for speech therapy on Sept 1.
