So I’m watching Married At First Sight and one wife is a 27 year old virgin. I felt drawn specifically to her journey in this process because I am also a virgin at 23 and I’m waiting for the right person to have my first intercourse with. I got the feeling that the producers really wanted drive the fact that she was a virgin. The shock from her mother in law, husband, and other wives surrounding her reveal was off putting to me in a sense.

I never ever perceived this as an issue on my end, I think for obvious reasons. I’m solid with my decision. But it made me think, Why do people see virgins, or those who haven’t had sex, almost as burdens?

I’m wondering if y’all have any insights. What were your experiences when\if you revealed your decision with your sexual partners?
