Bruise that won’t go away

Hey everyone, my son will be 2 in October. We have this old wooden couch that I hate and at the end of July he tried climbing on it and before I could get to him he slipped and hit his cheek pretty good on the edge of the solid wood. It swelled up immediately and he had bad bruising and a black eye. Well we are now over a month in and the bruising has gotten better from what it originally was but has stayed the same for about two weeks and his eye is still a little black. We took him to the pediatrician and she said its fine just a bruise took his blood which was normal and felt the area. Idk I can’t help but worry because it’s been so long and it doesn’t seem to be getting better. Under the bruise it is hard like a lump on his cheek. Anyone ever experience this?
