How do you know you're in love?

How do you go from "I like this person", "I really really like this person", "I think I love this person..?", to "I KNOW I love this person!" ?

To someone who is between the last two, how would you explain what being in love is? What would you say they should look for to determine if they've gone from really really liking someone to love?

I would say that if you have to really think about whether you're in love or not. . .than its not love

You can't imagine your life without them is when your in love. If you have to question it odds are its not real love

I've always thought it like self-sacrifice. Love is not an act of taking, but giving. Would I do anything for this person? Yes? Then I love them. Love is also something you have to work on, in a couple together. You can fall in and out of love many times with the same person, you just have to work through it.

That's why I feel there may be higher divorce rate. People are so quick to give up/not hang on if they don't feel all of the love for 5 seconds.

If you have to ask if it love then its not sorry hut but i asked myself many times in different relationships and it was never real love more lust. I am with a guy now and in love and i have never questioned or asked myself at all. I know he feels the same he couldnt live with out me and me with out him real love will scare you half to death how much u care and want the person in ur life.

For me... Love is this feeling in my chest of more than butterflies but of this unexplainable bursting of happiness. You'd do anything for this person. You smile just thinking about them, when you're not trying to. You can't STOP thinking of them. You care more for their happiness than your own.

It's that simple.  There is no doubt in love.  My husband and my kids are my family my everything.  I would not do a single thing to jeoperdize that and I know that neither would my husband. He is my best friend. We have been through pretty much everything for the first 2 yrs of marriage.  Though at times difficult I would not trade it for the world.

When you love someone there is no questioning you...like you just know. Like you can't shake the feeling of life without so and so. You want to see them all the time. You dream about them lol you just know! The only time you question someone is when you move in with them for the first time and learn about all their nasty habits and you question my god how can someone leave there underwear on the floor everywhere or spend 45 minutes using the bathroom!! With the relationship I'm in now, I asked myself this question a lot because of our huge age gap and I wanted to be sure I wasn't just infatuated or in lust.
