Does this happen often!?

Um Im not planning on getting mine removed soon but is it better to get switched out to prevent the possible of ot breaking once it removed? That was worded weirdly, would having it in longer make it more likely to break during removal? Ans whats happens of a piece is left inside? I'm so scared!
