Do I have to report to childupport I recently got a job? Or if I’m doing taxes? I am receiving childupport for my 2 children from my ex for Couple months i don’t know if I have to call them and tell them I got a job? I live in California thank you

Normally the only time they recollect your information is if the other party tries to have child support lowered.

I live in California, no you don’t need to report your income. If anything, he has to report his income. 😊

If you are obligated to PAY anyone else child support, yes, then you would need to tell the court system about your new job... But, as the RECIPIENT of child support, no, you should not need to report that.

Where I’m at if there is a significant change in income you have to report it. They base child support off minimum wage if you don’t work so let’s say you went from the minimum wage let’s say $14 to a significantly higher amount $20 plus an hour you may need to report that so they can adjust it. I pay my ex child support, 50/50 custody because I make a fuckton more so I’d be nice if they lowered it when he gets to my income bracket seeing as we both have the kids equally, but you know.... courts 🤦🏼‍♀️
