I personally cant drink coffee or energy drinks (generally anything with high caffeine) when Im on my period. It makes my cramps 5-10x worse than normal. If I need a little caffeine I usually drink a normal soda pop or eat some chocolate since chocolate has a low caffiene content. But some girls do require more caffiene than others. I would just try a cup and see if it helps or worsens your cramps and remember the effects for the next time. I honestly prefer to drink hot fruit/herbal tea when I'm cramping because the heat helps reduce inflammation and cramping pains.
