My Honest Skyla Insertion Experience

Hey guys, I had my insertion 3 days ago and I want to give some scared girls some hope!

I was so FREAKING nervous and scared before getting my IUD. I thought it was going to be so painful.

I’ve never had children, so I knew it would hurt. The GYN told me I had a small uterus and a straight/well aligned cervix.

Honestly, it was the same feeling as a pap smear for me. I have a very small vagina, so the speculum was the most painful part, but more uncomfortable than painful.

When she measured, I felt a very slight cramp. She said the IUD was about to go in and I asked if I could scream. Her response was “I’d prefer you not to, considering the IUD is already in”. I laughed SO hard!

No cramping after, either, just slight fatigue feeling. I don’t usually cramp on my period, though. Some breakthrough brown spotting.

Day 3 and I still feel amazing!

PS: I took 800mg of Motrin an hour before the insertion.
