I know this sounds horrid, but I can't help but feel jealous for women on here who have no financial worries. My husband used to have an amazing high paying job, but he was on the road for over half of the year. I had to spend all of my weekends alone, and sometimes he was gone for 4-6 weeks at a time. I finally convinced him to come off the road in 2013 so we could be together every night and try to start a family. I am a teacher and I make $40K a year (and I've been teaching for 9 years...terrible, I know). He now has a job that he absolutely loves, but he makes the same amount that I do. We live in a city where the property taxes are ridiculously high, and we have a lot of debt from school, cars, mortgage, etc and we don't get much chance to put any in savings. I'm pregnant for the first time and I am terrified of how we are going to make ends meet. How would people like us afford child care? How do you do it if you are in a situation like mine? Should I be pushing him to find a higher paying job if we want to live comfortably and without so much financial worry with a baby on the way?
