Anyone tried donor sperm???

Hiya ladies! 
So I posted a while back that we were finally going to find out if we could have babies or not. My husband had zero sperm count in two analysts so he decided to take it a step further and get a biopsy done. We finally got the results a few weeks ago and unfortunately did not hear what we were hoping too 😞 
I’m wondering what the process of using donor sperm is like??

Hi, we used donor sperm for our IVF cycle. We had to tell the clinic my husband's characteristics, skin tone, race, hair and eye colour, height, weight etc, then they sent us 5 profiles through of physically similar donors and we had to choose one. We got lots of info on them besides physical including religion, hobbies, education etc but we didn't use that in making our decision. We also had the option of sourcing our own through other sperm banks but used the clinic as it was simpler.
Once we picked one we paid a reservation fee (so we could have 5 units of it for multiple tries) and they sourced it to use, we pay for each vial used.
