Are you taking your kids to the playground now?

My toddlers have not been to the playground in 6 months. The covid monotony is KILLING ME. Indoors with an occasional walk or bike ride or car ride. I've been so paranoid about covid that we haven't even ordered takeout food in 6 months. I just wanna be so done with this. I am thissssss close to taking them to the playground. It should be better now that the older kids are in school, right?? By the way we're in Texas, where the number of cases has been highest.

We live in a small town, so we take him when there is no one else at the playground. We go for a walk and if other kids are there (we can see it from across a parking lot and ball field), we tell our son the slides are closed today and we just continue with our walk. If no one is there, we take him to play and then just clean his hands after. He’s 2 and rarely puts his fingers in his mouth, especially when he’s busy playing. We already lost out on extended family time, festivals, parades, zoo, pools, water slides, and so much more this summer. We’re continuing to be cautious, but our son needs to enjoy life too. Besides, odds are higher that we’ll catch Covid from the hundreds of students we teach than from a slide.

We take our 2 year old to a park that’s on the school near our house. I wouldn’t let my kid play if other kids were there, as I’m due in 7 weeks.

I honestly might. Just before covid he played at the playground for the first time since he was now old enough but they shut down due to covid soon after. We'd go to the park for a walk and he'd cry to go on the slides & all. He's been bored at the house so I'm debating whether we should go since they've opened back up.

All playgrounds are fenced off near us (Bay Area) It’s very sad. My youngest (15 months) loves to climb and is super adventurous and she has never really experienced a playground. And my 3 y/o asks everyday “if they are done cleaning yet.” I hate COVID.

I live in a small town where covid was on a down wards trend so we were just starting to do the pArks but the last week it’s been spiking so we no longer go to the parks to be safe .. makes me sad cuz my son is 19 months and a only child. it was hes socialization with children but with covid on the raise especially with younger children it’s a no go.. not to mention school starts soon too

Yes but we’re on a military base so there’s usually a decent amount of kids there however, I’m constantly putting hand sanitizer on her hands after everything she touches. I don’t let any of the kids touch her and I keep her fully clothed to limit the amount of germs. I give her a bath right when we get home and I wash her then let her sit in the warm water with soap for a minute.

My kids are doing Virtual classes. A higher percentage said yes, and that’s the reason why I am not taking my kids. No one cleans those dam things...

We go to the playground early morning when no one else is there. We wipe hands after and wash when we get home. I don’t see a problem, so long as it’s an empty playground.

No.  I’m bored too but it’s not worth the risk for me!  Big kids are distance learning, I’m a sahm, and SO is currently laid off due to covid.  Since we’re all able to be home and protected, we’re staying that way as long as we can.
