is it ok to give baby water ?

my baby is 3 months now and my boyfriend mother gave her 2oz of nursery water to “clean her system” I always heard never give the baby water but it seems like people in my family tell me to do things the doctor say dont do .. once they gave her the water she instantly shitted so I thought it cleanse her system

No no no and no!!!! It doesn’t clean their system. And especially that young baby can get water intoxication. Water can easily make electrolytes and everything else out of whack. 
From here on out don’t listen to the family and listen to the dr. And don’t let baby out of your site.

Don't even tell me about it. My mil used to bother me all the time for not giving my baby water, its was crazy she kept saying that babies need water and she gave it to all of her 5 and i was like no they don't until they start solids unless its like a thousand degrees or something and they are at risk of dehydration. So the thing is they don't need water but it was just one time it wont do any harm. I think this mils are all the same thats why i never let my baby alone with the grandmothers until she is bigger, they never respect our choices 🤷‍♀️

No!  no water!  breast milk and formula have enough water the baby needs, giving a baby water too early can cause kidney damage because it can make the salts unbalanced making already underdeveloped kidneys work harder than they have too
