Breastfeeding (Numbness in breasts)

Hi Guys. First Time Mom here. I would really appreciate some advise.

I am breastfeeding and I recently noticed that my breasts feel a bit numb especially on the sides. I can feel a slight sensation but not much; however, I can feel my nipples though.

Also, sometimes I feel a shooting pain like needles or pins sticking me inside my breasts, and other times I get a feeling like something is sticking me along the sides of my breast which makes me want to just scratch away. All the while the skin is still numb.

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this or similar? I am due for a checkup next week but in the interim , I really would love you guys feedback.
