Toddler wakings/Me time
I love mornings. My favorite time of the day to wake up is 5:00am, but I can’t do that if I don’t sleep. I have to have at least 6-7 hours of sleep to be able to wake up and be productive at that time.
My problem is, I swear, my 16 month old is psychic. He’ll sleep through the night for a month straight, and I’ll decide “Okay, he’s probably not going to wake up tonight so I’m going to set my alarms early to work out and get some alone time before he wakes up.” Then he’ll wake up at 2-3am and not go back to sleep for 1-2 hours. At that point, there’s no way I can wake up at 5am. I have to just sleep when I can.
He did this exact thing tonight and I’m so frustrated. I decided right before going to bed to set my alarms, and I’ve been up with him for over an hour and a half trying to get him to go back to sleep.
Does anyone know why this could be happening?? I am literally so confused and don’t know what to do. I keep getting into these funks and I’m just not happy and I know that if I woke up early again it would fix it.
I know that no one will be able to offer advice on how to fix it, it’s not really a fixable problem. I’m really just venting and trying to pass the time until my baby goes to sleep.
