Postpartum: Very High Blood Pressure?
I’m having very high blood pressure after giving birth. Like, my blood pressure was never this high during my pregnancy or even during giving birth. It’s like 160-170 over 100-120 ranges. But I feel fine. I got over 8 hours of sleep. No stress. I looked it up and it says it is possible to have blood pressure problems postpartum due to bodily changes (hormones and all that). I had high blood pressure before pregnancy and during pregnancy which was handled with Labetalol very easily. My blood pressure would get in the 140/90s and I would take my blood pressure medication and it would go down. But after pregnancy, my labetalol isn’t working and my blood pressure is considered stroke level high. I feel perfectly fine. I wish I knew why my body was doing this. I’m aggravated that I have no answers. I gave birth on 8/30 and I’ve been at this hospital since 8/29 and I’m still here due to high BP. I was supposed to leave last night, but due to high BP I couldn’t.
