🆘 What did you do to build milk supply??🆘

Question

Besides fenugreek, what did you take or do to build your milk supply. I didn’t make enough for my son my last pregnancy because I didn’t have a pump at home and was struggling to get him to latch. Then got sick and hospitalized and dried up. The next baby I want to do all I can to have a good supply.

Body armor was my saving grace. 1 per day. Plus adding pump sessions after nursing. (I ignored advice to not pump until after 6 weeks). 
Also personally, I did not go back on birth control, which is also why I’m pregnant again with #3 😂 but I don’t mind. I know that’s a hot topic, but in my experience, that’s when my supply dropped off after my 1st.

Fenugreek actually dried me up. What I recommend is lots of water & fresh oatmeal with flax meal. I also have tried Legendairy and Milky Mama products and they helped. But I'd avoid fenugreek

Fenugreek is a hit, or miss. It may dry some women out, it may help their supply. I don’t wanna to chance it lol. I make brewers yeast + flax seed cookies of all types. I use literally ANY cookie recipe (bonus points if there’s oats already added), and add in some brewers yeast + flax seeds. 
I also take my prenatal vitamins until I’m done breastfeeding to make sure my body can keep up with baby 💜

Definitely get a pump. Even a manual one which you can find pretty cheap at Walmart. I nursed then would pump after but stopped once my supply was in then nursed on demand. Maybe try a nipple shield if that happens again. drink TONS of water, & Gatorade helps as well!
Also don’t beat yourself up too much. Your baby is fed & happy. I got sick with my first & was in hospital too & my supply dried up, it’s super disheartening but there’s not much we can do unfortunately. My second is now 10w & I’ve been able to nurse this time.

I just drank a lot of water and drank body armors. Eat healthy, buy a pump even if itsa manual one.
