Heart issues during pregnancy

(Currently 8 weeks 1 day)

A few days ago, I was attempting a 3 hour drive home but I started to have some strange palpitations and dizziness. So, I ended up turning around to stay at my parents.

I wasn’t able to sleep at all because of the palpitations so I went to an urgent care the next morning. She performed an EKG on me and told me it looked normal...but she suggested that I still go to the ER. I took her advice and went.

I was monitored for about 5 hours, had another EKG done and some blood tests. At the end of my stay, I was told that everything seemed normal. So I went home and worked on getting some sleep.

A couple days go by, and I get a call from my regular heart clinic (I see a cardiologist because I have something called inappropriate sinus tachycardia). They check up on me and say they want me to see a new cardiologist on the 15th. I figured it was just to check things since I’m pregnant.

A few days afterwards, I get another call from the heart clinic. They tell me they looked over my EKG from the ER and want me to see an Electrophysiologist, get an echocardiogram and have a 48 hour holter monitor put on.

As you can imagine, now I’m scared. Like what did they see that the ER didn’t? Now I’m worried I’m not okay.

Anyway, on the 15th, I’ll see the cardiologist, get the echocardiogram and the monitor put on. Then on October 1st, I see the Electrophysiologist unless the monitor or echo shows them something to make me come in sooner.

Mind you, this is my second(technically 3rd) pregnancy and I didn’t have these issues. Has anyone else had a similar story and everything turned out okay?
