Sudden weight loss during pregnancy

Lauren

I started out overweight and from the beginning to week 16 I hadn't gained any weight. I was obsessed with the scale in the first trimester because I'm anxious about gaining weight so I had put it away and not touched it for a while. Well last night I decided to step on the scale just to see if I've gained anything. Come to find out I lost 7lbs.

I have not made any chance to my diet, I have not been exercising much. I've literally had no motivation to move so I've been a potato on the couch. I'm a bit scared of what this could mean. I have my 20 week appointment on Tuesday and I am nervous to see if their scale matches what mine says.

I've done some reading from Dr. Google and most the article say if the weight loss is sudden then it could mean something serious like pre-eclampsia or gestational diabetes. My last pregnancy I was monitored for pre-eclampsia because my blood pressure was "high" (140's over 90) my normal blood pressure is about 118 over 75. This started around my 24th week so I was in the doctor's office every week until the end of my pregnancy. Thankfully I was fine and my son was fine. But what if this time I'm not?

I'm very emotional today and not feeling great and the weight loss thing is freaking me out some, especially since I feel like I should have gained weight (I've been eating out a bit more)

Has this happened to anyone? Should I be concerned or should I just relax? Like I said I have my 20 week appointment on Tuesday so I will see what the doctor's scale says. And I will definitely call them if I have any other symptoms.
