Am I wrong?

My boyfriend went and bought a dog. We don’t live together yet he stays with me 80% of the time. He doesn’t help with bills or buying baby stuff. I’m 14 weeks and he has yet to buy the baby 1 thing. He bought a new car (a second car) a month and a half ago. And yesterday he called me to tell me he bought a dog. I’m really upset! He’s buying things that are a “want” not a “need” I have bought EVERYTHING so far for the baby. Bassinet, 2 car seats one for my car and one for his. Clothes up until 6 months, changing table, diaper genie, binkies, blankets. If I didn’t buy all that stuff, I wouldn’t have anything... 
I already have two kids that I fully support on my own. He blames my emotions on the pregnancy. 
Am I in the wrong?

He's your boyfriend and you don't live together so I don't think you can tell him what to do with his money. Maybe ask him for half the money you've spent on items for the baby. If he refuses, that's a different issue.

Well 14 weeks is still a little early to be buying all the baby stuff, and especially to guys it seems early (my husband thought that we shouldn’t be buying anything until 30 weeks 🙄 I had to explain why that was a bad idea lol) so if you didn’t talk to him about that then he has no idea. And I would have held off buying sooo many things for the baby anyway because there are probably people around you that are looking to get rid of their baby stuff. I was planning on buying all my baby stuff, but then random coworkers of mine, my husband, and my parents all decided to give us pretty much everything for free. It’s his money and you are not living in the same household, so at this point he can do what he wants with it

You’re not wrong to be annoyed, but I think better communication needs to take place. Quit buying baby stuff and make a list of what needs to be bought along with the prices and show him, so it really sinks in. I’d honestly take back one of the car seats and have him buy a second base for his car for the seat to click into. Write out an expected diaper and formula ( if it’s being used) budget and let him know you expect him to contribute half so he can see it visually.

Absolutely not, yeah it’s his money and he can do as he pleases but if I found out my bf bought a dog that he’s gonna have to buy food, bowls, beds, and whatever else he gets the dog before buying stuff for his actual human baby I’d be pretty pissed off too. Dogs themselves are already expensive but if he has the finances for it, not a big deal it’s just why haven’t you bought baby things yet??? Like go ahead and buy what you want but at least put some money into your child’s needs.

It shows me he's not in the mindset of a serious relationship. If you're single or casually dating, that's up to him. If the 2 of you are having a baby together, then these things should be discussed by the couple before one makes a major decision like getting a dog. And the fact that he doesn't help with baby expenses and now can't come to your apartment that doesn't allow dogs shows me his mind is still in bachelor mode. I would think that not being able to be at your place once the baby comes would be a major problem.

Have u actually asked him or gave him a list of things to buy for the baby? Or are u just assuming he will do it? U still have tons of time left to get necessities, so just tell him what u want him to buy and if he refused then yes I’d be aggravated. I don’t see an issue with how he spends his money if he would agree to help with buying baby stuff.

You aren’t wrong. But I have to say when I first read it, I thought you said he went and bought a hot dog. I was like ummm 😂😂
