Wrong formula? 😔😩

So my son is 12 days old. I posted when he was 4 days old on here that he kept eating every hour that he would wake up to feed and y’all suggested he was cluster-feeding...... I don’t think this is cluster feeding anymore! While in the back of my mind it could be, I think it has something to do with his formula? When he was first born, he had the pre-mixed Similac Sensitive the hospital gives you. I asked for that because my son was very sensitive to formula. So when we had those run out, we started the formula he is on now (I thought the world of this formula with my son after trying MULTIPLE formulas) which is the Gerber Soothe with the probiotic (purple can). Every time he eats, he falls asleep for 45 minutes and wants to eat more. Sometimes whenever he wakes up, it’s .5 of an ounce sometimes 2 ounces. He is extremely gassy with how much effort I put into it (Dr. Browns bottles, the “gentle” formula, bicycle legs, mylicon drops, tummy time, warm baths, etc) and I feel terrible for the little guy. Could it be the formula? He has a doctors appointment scheduled but it isn’t until 2 weeks from now but I don’t and can’t take him being in pain for another second!! If you think it’s the formula, could y’all recommend a formula that worked for your LO with the same issues? TIA!!!

It could be a milk intolerance. My twins have it and they are in pain with all their gas. I feel so bad for them. The doctor switched their formula and it's starting to get a little better.

I'm in the same boat, only with breast milk.. it's so draining for the both of us and he is in constant discomfort from gas.

I was in the same boat, my baby has been constipated since he came home from the nicu, I tried EVERYTHING even applied juice .mixed with his formula, I went to the er 4 times in 6 days cuz I was sick of him being in pain. The doctor told me to switch his formula to lactose free ( I was lactose before pregnancy) and give him one suppository to push out his bm, ever since I switched formulas he’s been 100 times better and actually sleeps. I got a full night rest last night only getting up twice for feeding of course

I’m having the same issue only with my breast milk. My LO is constantly waking up or staying up because of how much she’s in pain from the gas. I don’t have an answer for you, but you’re not alone!!! ❤️

My baby girl is 17 days old and we changed her formula about 11 days ago bc the pre mixed Enfamil from the hospital made her poop like crazy, like every time she farted runny poop would come out and she would poop directly after drinking her bottles to the point where her little booty was so raw that I cried with her every time I had to change her turns out  she's allergic to a protein in cows milk and so her pediatrician switched her to Similac Alimentum and it's helped out dramatically !! She still poops every 2-3 hours after eating so it doesn't run right through her luckily and her booty is no longer raw hallelujah but she also "cluster" feeds with this formula it seems, sometimes its 2 oz every 2-3 hours and sometimes it's 2 oz this hour then another oz the third hour , but throughout the night she goes 3-4 hours until she wakes it's so confusing to follow her schedule bc it's still so random it seems.

Wrong formula? 😔😩
