Does it hurt when your water breaks?

I've heard people say that its like a "pop". That sounds painful.. currently 8 months along and I just want to be prepared if it does happen to me

Nope! I felt a popping sensation but it didn’t hurt at all!

The midwife broke mine. Her breaking it hurt (the tool) but it actually breaking I didn't even feel it. I just felt the gush of warm liquid

Water broke at the hospital. There was no fluid and I was and still am confused lol

I heard mine but didn't feel it. It broke right after I got done peeing. It sounded like when you crack your knuckle then a gush came out in the toilet. For me it kept gushing every few minutes. 
I didn't have any pads at home so I sat on a towel on the way to the hospital and squished my way in when we got there. It felt like I was uncontrollably peeing my pants lol so uncomfortable! But not painful.

No “pop” for me. 
Just water gushing out. Then it would pour out every time I had a strong contraction. So my water breaking, lasted about an hour. Extremely uncomfortable and weird because you have no control over anything.

Well I don’t know the correct terminology but I had my water popped by a doctor with a big stick at the hospital 😂 and that didn’t hurt so I’m only assuming if it happens naturally it wouldn’t hurt either.

Its like sitting on a water balloon.
Mine popped in my bed which pissed me off. And it's not exactly like movies where its once and done. I labored for 23 hours just dropping not so small water bombs everywhere.
