Toddler tantrums on the ground
So my daughter turned two a few months ago and often when she throws a tantrum she will throw herself on the ground. Like if another kid takes her toy out of her hand, if she wants her dad to hold her and he can’t at the moment, things like that. She won’t let me pick her up when she’s on the ground, won’t let me reason with her and ask her if I can help make it better. If I talk to her it usually makes it worse and she’ll sometimes swat at me. I don’t see most other kids act like this. I know toddlers have tantrums and big feelings and are learning and personalities are different, but is this a matter of all that or is there something abnormal? It’s embarrassing and frustrating to be honest. Tonight we were at a bbq and she did it a few times and some guy I don’t even know said to her “you’re always on the floor aren’t you?!” And of course every time she laid down after that it was like “you’re in the floor again?!!!” 🙄. Is it a sign of being a spoiled brat? Is it personality? A phase? Anyone have any advice?!
