Hot oil fondue while pregnant?
Hey ladies,
Today is my birthday and my husband and I are planning on making hot oil fondue for dinner (basically everything is fried in a really hot oil....super healthy I know 😂). Anyway, my concern is that we normally do various diced veggies, cubed cheeses, and diced steak and chicken (most are dipped into a batter before going into the oil ). Do you think I run into any risk of cross contamination (salmonella, listeria, toxoplasmosis etc) if I share the same hot oil with my meats, veggies and cheeses at the same time? The hot oil will be at 375 degrees. I could also just do all the veggies and cheeses in the hot oil first, then do the meats last to be extra cautious? 🤷♀️. What do y’all think? Normally we just cook whatever we want at the same time all together, but being pregnant I wasn’t sure if I should do that.
