This is my first month using the Clearblue digital OPKs and I received my first flashing smiling face this morning! I was a little surprised that it was this early (CD 11), but hopefully that just means the hubs and I will have a few days to "prepare" 😅

Blinking smile is measuring estrogen and LH. Your estrogen rises before the LH but almost in tandem.

We used Clear blue digital when we were TTC our daughter and we’re now TTC #2 and we’re using them again. They definitely helped us but apparently my hormones start rising quite early as I have a very long fertility window (it was 9 days this month) and clearly the first few days are too early as sperm only lives a maximum of 5 days. 
I also found that some months (including the month our daughter was conceived) they don’t pick up my ovulation day (Although clearly I did ovulate unless our daughter is a medical marvel!).
My advice would be use them for what they are, a useful support aid but don’t let them stress you out.
