Gifts for hospital staff?

I'm just curious if I show up without gifts for all my nurses/doctors if I'm going to look rude and ungrateful. I am very grateful for their care, but organizing gifts sounds like just another thing to add to my to-do list when I've got barely enough energy to get through it already. Also 💸💸💸

I mean sure it’s super nice and all but at the same time it’s not like they’re doing you a favor. I’m paying nearly 100k to be there and they’re getting paid as well

Totally not necessary. I didn’t with our first. This time we are bringing cookies (mostly because I have a girlfriend who does adorable cookies and I want an excuse to have some lol) but I’m not even sure if that’s allowed during covid 🤷🏻‍♀️ so they may be turned away anyway lol

I’m giving birth in a birthing center where it’ll just be a midwife and possibly a student and nurse nearby. Im required to eat before I leave, I’m ordering pizza and I’ll offer them a slice lmao but dassit.

I've had 5 babies and never done gifts. I worked as a CNA at a skilled nursing facility and sometimes family members would bring us treats after their person was discharged and it was always a very sweet gesture but not necessary in my eyes. If you feel up to it sure, do it but if not don't worry. Thank yous and kindness go a long way too :)

Its their job. A simple and kind thank you is enough, you shouldn't feel obligated to buy them anything for doing their job

We are doing individual wrapped gifts. Coffee, some bite sized candy, hand lotion, pen, sharpie, fun size candy, small pack of trail mix, and gum nothing crazy expensive. But I feel that whatever you decide to do I up to you.
