So I feel really dumb having to ask this, but what does it mean if your doctor says that your “cervix feels closed and flat”? Like I know closed means no dilation that they can feel, but what the hell does flat mean??? I didn’t think to ask him at my appointment what exactly he meant by that, and I can’t find the answers online anywhere so far. Only thing I’ve found is that your cervix moves from back to forward (which also confuses me what exactly that means 🤦🏻‍♀️), and will thin and soften. I was 36 weeks and 2 days at that appointment if that matters/helps/or if you’re curious.
