The neighbors called the cops on my MIL

So, let me start off, I love my MIL. She's such a sweet lady and a wonderful grandmother. Almost a year ago, she found out that she had cancer. I believe it was in her pancreas. It was caught early, she went through several treatments, and now the tumor seems to be gone. She stills goes back to the doctor for more testing, but she's doing better.

My MIL has lived in her neighborhood for around 15 years. Her husband(my husband's dad) died about 24 years ago. So, my husband has always mowed her grass when he can. Even now, he travels an hour to her house and mows her grass, but he can't always go over there, but he definitely goes when he gets the chance. She owns 5 acres. Most of her backyard is woods(big pine trees, etc.). I'd say the woods part covers about 3 and 1/2 acres of her backyard. So, there is another part of her backyard, which is directly behind the house, but it's a bit of a hill and it's overgrown a good bit. It's been this way for a long time. Since before I knew my husband. The front yard/side yard looks perfect. You can BARELY see the backyard. It doesn't affect the neighbors yards in any way, shape, or form. So, my MIL's neighbor, who is a complete Karen by the way, decides to call the cops, the cops come over and threaten to give her a fine. This woman called the cops on my mother in law who has been battling cancer and can't possibly clean up overgrown grass by herself. So, instead of coming over and maybe offering her help, she calls the cops. This lady also called the cops on another neighbor for them having their truck in their own front yard. My husband is LIVID. I'm pretty mad myself. So, my husband had to go and spend all day over at his mom's clearing out a piece of her backyard that you can barely see and bothers no one else. And no, the backyard was not trashy. It was literally just some overgrown grass. I guess I'm just venting. I just feel like it's ridiculous.
