Why would he mention we move to a state that his ex moved to, one of his exes if from, and we have no family there. Does this sound genuine or cause of his exes

Bf graduated in March and I graduated 2 years before him. When he first moved to the town were in now, that was his dream location. He wanted to live there since being a kid and talked about how he never wants to leave. Ok cool. Months after graduating college he started talking about moving to a state 2,000 miles away to a state that his ex moved to and lived there for a year before returning back to our home state CO. The girl he was with after the first ex was actually originally from the state his ex moved to and he’s talking about. It didn’t really bother me at first till his FB search history was filled with them both. I came a year after so sometime has passed. Normally I would be fine with this move, but we have no friends or family there and his FB searches. Idk how to feel. How could he suddenly want to leave his dream town/space. I can’t tell if he genuinely likes the new state or if it’s cause of his exes. I try asking and he shuts it down
