I may not remember it, but...
Sorry guys, didn’t know which room to post this in.
Today is a very heart-heavy day for Americans. My mom was 21 when the 9/11 attack occurred. She can tell me exactly where she was, who she was with, what she was doing. I feel like anyone that was older than a toddler at that time can. I was only 1, so I don’t remember a thing.
I had a realization this morning. As more years pass, and the generation that remembers/witnessed the attack passes, do you think the tributes and memories of that day will fade? I fully plan on educating my son about it when he’s older, I want to share my mom’s/dad’s/grandma’s recalls with him, but will everyone else?
How do you describe it to your children now?
I just feel that this is too big a part of our history to simply fade away as time goes on. We shouldn’t ever forget all the brave men, women, officers, firefighters, paramedics, etc. that were a center part of that day.
TL;DR - how do I explain to my son what happened on September 11, 2001 since I have no memory of the day? Do you think the history of this day will fade as time goes by?
