Please read!! Should I be concerned

So I have been on a new birth control for about 3 months now, my last period was from July 15th-20th. I spotted off and on through August like 7 different times. Figured it was from the birth control, well now I’m due for my period tomrrow but I just finished my sugar pills. My husband and I don’t use any form of protection other than the pill. I had taken a test the other day but the test didn’t come out right. Just wondering if I should continue to test? Or just wait it out because of the new pill. I’ve been on a couple different kinds of pills before and I’ve never spotted before so just a little nervous but also excited !!
