Normal?
Hey there, I’m 17.5 years old and Ive never really had normal periods in the entirety of my 4.5 years of having them- they’re not consistent and always really heavy (like bleed through an ultra tampon in an hour kind of heavy). Last February, I got an IUD and after a few months everything was a little less wonky and heavy but still kinda weird. During the few months before it was better, it was really long. Like 3 weeks long with a week or two in between. And now all of a sudden, the last few months it’s gotten to be like that again. I started my period on August 21, and then it ended on September 8... yesterday it started again. Is this normal for IUD users? Or people that are new(ish) to periods? Another thing, is that I’m not really sure when to mark it as starting and ending because for a week or so before it becomes Niagara Falls of blood, it’s a smaller, lighter amount of blood- like spotting. But very consistent and every day, so I mark it as my period. And then afterwards it’s this weird brown discharge with streaks of red (sorry if that’s tmi) and so I also mark that because it seems like it’s more old blood than discharge.
Thank you so much for reading and helping! My family (including me) are all at high-risk with covid, so I want to limit my exposure to the world as much as I possibly can. I love in a hotspot right now, so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to go to the doctor for it, especially if it’s not a big deal.
Sorry if some of this was TMI...I’ve never made a post before and don’t know the parameters yet
Thanks :)
