Am I wrong

Hey guys. Me and a guy that I’ve been talking to recently went out to a restaurant. It was his idea to go out and he actually asked me to come. I was sick, had a headache, it was freezing out, and I had declined at first. Until he kept asking and said he just wanted to see me and that it would be nice to share a meal over brunch. I said fine and met him there. So everything was good, when finished he paid for both of our meals. About 2 weeks later me and him had a disagreement and he brings up the restaurant outing. He said he didn’t say anything but I was actually supposed to pay for my own meal. So I’m sitting there like, you asked ME to come out, practically begged me. I have no problem paying for my own meals and have done so plenty of times. But it made me feel some type of way because he was so content with getting me to come out. Idk, am I wrong for assuming that he was supposed to pay for the meal?
