Would I be able to schedule an induction ?

I just moved an hour and a half away from my doctors office but I would still love to deliver there and with my doctor. I just think it would be stressful to go into labor randomly and have to take that long drive. Also having to worry about if my husband will be here when I go into labor or at work which is an hour away from our house too. I'd definitely schedule for after 39 weeks.

My OB does elective 39 week inductions. I scheduled one solely because I wanted to be able to have all my ducks in a row. I had to line up someone to watch our pets, my husband only got a certain amount of time off work so lining up my labor with this schedule I as ideal. I worked at the hospital I delivered at so If I went into labor at work my car would have to be left in the lot and risk being towed. I know everyone says that it’s best to just let baby come, but the level of stress behind not knowing just eating away at me. 
I ended up going into labor naturally a few hours before the scheduled induction so it really worked out well for me.

Depends on the OB. Some will let you some won’t. Just explain your situation and see what they say!

I’m about an hour away from my OB but don’t wanna schedule an induction. I’m just nervous I’m going to have my water break and my fiancé is going to be at work 2 hours away and then he has to drive home and pick me up and then drive another hour to the hospital. So I’m resigned that I’m going to have to drive myself to the hospital.

It depends on if your doctor is open to doing that. Luckily mine suggested an induction at 39 weeks because I'm at risk for a c-section, but the closest date he can do it is the 23rd and it's a day past my due date which puts me at 40 weeks

Depends on the OB but here (Ontario) most won't do an induction just for the convenience of it unfortunately. It can also make for a longer labour if you're body isn't ready, going into labour naturally is great and such an awesome surprising event 🥰

I believe it is possible. But it might come down to you or doctor. My doctor asked me if I wanted to be induced at 39 weeks, as in I had the choice. But they also said they don’t recommend it if I didn’t really need to. So I would just talk to your doctor and see what they say

I’m not sure, but I would ask. I think it’s reasonable to want one in these circumstances.
