CIO Method
Last night we did EVERYTHING we could think of to calm our 2 week and 3 day old newborn. Fed her, changed her diaper, she pooped and peed (so it wasn’t constipation or anything), burped her, gave her simethicone drops for gas (she was passing gas), gave her pacifier to her, checked her temp (it was fine), swaddled her, and held her for a long time, etc.
We tried everything first. And eventually we just tried the cry it out method. She cried for 2 or so minutes and she fell asleep.
I feel so bad for doing it, but I didn’t know what else to do.
I know there are mixed feelings about the CIO method, but it was used as a very last option. And I know it says online to don’t even try the CIO method until they are at least 3-4 months old, but man, I felt hopeless last night.
Please don’t judge me. I just wanted to hear about y’all’s experience with the CIO method. What age did you start? I feel so bad for trying it out with her being just 2 weeks and 3 days old. I just wanted to hear what y’all had to say.
