8 lbs, 6 ounzes at 36 weeks + 5 days. Help!

I had an ultrasound at my doctor’s office yesterday and she found the baby to be weighing 8lbs (and I was only 36 wks, 4 days) so she sent me to a practice that has more high tech machines to confirm. I went to that practice today and they measured him at 8lbs, 6 ounces. Even bigger! The tech did mention there’s a 20% margin of error. Otherwise, he’s totally healthy. I do not have GD as far as we know. I was tested at 24 weeks and it was negative. I don’t have high blood pressure or any other complications.

Did anyone else have a baby this big between 36 and 37 weeks? How did it turn out? Am I destined for a c-section? Would you accept a scheduled c-section with this news?
