Going to a different hospital?

Currently for all my appointments I’m going to a hospital that’s about 30+ minutes from my house, much longer in traffic. We have the same main campus hospital (Cleveland clinic) not even 10 minutes from my house. When I go into labor, if I feel like we’re short on time or something can we just go to the emergency to the closer one?

You can go to whatever hospital you want but you more than likely won’t be able to have your OB and who you’re used to and have seen throughout your entire pregnancy and someone you have never seen before is going to end up delivering your baby, so whatever you may have discussed with your doctor as far as a birth plan goes 😬 is there a reason you just didn’t switch to a closer doctor/office earlier in your pregnancy?

You can but understand they won't have your history and medical records and your doctor won't have privileges there (they won't be there or able to help and support you) if they don't have a second job there. But in case of emergency, yes.

I know that the Cleveland Clinic has locations in many areas, but if you are actually in CIeveland, I read that the Cleveland Clinic only delivers high risk pregnancies at the main campus.  Normal pregnancies deliver at Hillcrest, Fairview, or Akron General.
