I think the CBA is justified and can do whatever they want. He can play basketball in other countries just not China. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes, because those statements are classless. 
Being familiar with pro basketball overseas, I’ve seen people banned for less.

no. this would be seen as pretty shocking in china as it's a pretty conservative country, and like most of asia, highly values reputation/keeping face. he is not immune to the repercussions of embarrassing an organisation he's associated with. also "might switch up my stance" is gross and demeaning.

I mean it’s up to the CBA, they can do as they see fit. Personally I think it deserves some punishment, but banning him entirely from a sport seems a bit over the top. We all make mistakes and say dumb things sometimes, and we learn from it. I mean I’ve heard plenty of women say far worse things about men, not trying to excuse it, but we all make mistakes. I obviously have no idea what his previous contract with the CBA regarding free speech is, but I think the CBA can do as they please since it’s their business

Appallingly inappropriate. I think what baffles me is that he doesn’t find any of that behavior embarrassing. I don’t even know what sort of repercussions would be commensurate.  Banned for life seems a bit much, but it’s not like he’s going to end up destitute because of it. I doubt he cares all that much.

Honestly, I think his comment fetishizing Chinese women is gross. I don’t really think it’s worth being kicked out of an entire country, but at the same time I’m not outraged that he was.

I read this like 4 times and don’t see a problem other than the “change my stance part”. He went to a strip club and took a pic?? A shit ton of people do that. I’m having a hard time figuring out what’s so wrong about this.
