Birthing ball?

Question

Is this the same as a yoga ball? If so, will any yoga ball do for a birthing ball or is there some things I need to keep in mind. I am a plus size mom and safety is important. Thank you. ☺️

The size you get depends on your height, since you want your knees to be level with your hips when you sit on it, for maximum stability. Anything too big or too small is harder to balance on. I wouldn't worry about the weight concerns. They're all made to withstand full-sized adults. A bigger one won't necessarily be stronger, but you might be more likely to fall off of it, or not be able to get comfortable when you lean over it. You want your shoulders to be somewhat level with your hips when you're leaning over it.

Yes a birthing ball is just another way to say an exercise ball. They are great throughout your third trimester. With your doctor's approval there are lots of movements that you can do that help get the baby in the right position, and also, they are comfortable just to sit on! They feel like you are sitting on a cloud. They are also nice for similar reasons during labor.

I just got one last night at Walmart for 10 bucks and it came with a pump. If you buy one that is the right size for your height, you shouldn't have a problem. You can always have your spouse or partner stand behind you if you're worried about balance but it pretty easy to balance on

When we were looking for an exercise/birthing ball, we found that they can be really pricey depending where you go. We ended up getting one at "5 Below" (yep! For $5!) and it's perfect. My husband works out with it as well so it can bare more than enough weight! Blessings :)

Any exercise ball will work. Well, I say any. I'm going to get a big one. I just feel like it'd be safer haha.
