Would an internal ultrasound show endometriosis?

Question

I had an ultrasound and ended up having an internal ultrasound sound ( up my vag) would it show if I had it or pcos or fibrous problems?

It should tell you if you have fibroids, cysts or polyps but not endometriosis. This is my experience: only when  the doctor removed the fibroids with surgery (c-section) he was able to see the start of endometriosis in my ovary and remove it. By ultrasounds (either external or vaginal) he wasn't able to tell I have signs of endometriosis.

I had to have a laparoscopy to determine I had Endometriosis. I had multiple scans done on different visits and nothing.. I was finally diagnosed after the surgery.

An ultrasound can show if your ovaries are polycystic, which is one component of PCOS... but your doctor will also review your history and symptoms with you and do bloodwork if he/she believes it’s warranted. There’s not really one single test to diagnose PCOS. As for endo, that seems to be a trickier diagnose to make. It require a laparoscopy and biopsy of the tissue. It’s not always evident on a simple ultrasound, especially if the lesions are small and/or superficial.
